How much will an attorney cost me?

The first 30 minute consultation is free and will help you to assess your legal needs. During this consultation you will be talking directly with the attorney who will handle your case. Fees vary depending on the circumstance and type of issues. Please click here for more details.

What is your charge for an uncontested divorce?

We charge $275 for an uncontested divorce plus court cost, which normally range from $75 to $90 depending on the county.

How long will a divorce normally take?

Once the paperwork is filed with the court there is a 30 day waiting period We will schedule the next available court date after the waiting period. The divorce is normally final on the court date. This entire process takes about 6-8 weeks.

My spouse says they already have an attorney to take care of the paperwork. Do I need an attorney to represent me in an uncontested divorce?

If you are going through an uncontested divorce, it is not required that you have your own attorney. However, it is highly recommended to have your own attorney to review the documents with prior to signing your divorce papers. Don't make the mistake of signing any legal document if you do not understand the language.

Do you handle contested divorces?

Yes, we do handle contested divorces but only in the Alapaha Judicial Circuit, which is Atkinson, Berrien, Clinch, Cook and Lanier counties.

Do I need a will ?

Most individuals need a will.  If you own property, are married, or if you have children, it is a good idea to have a will.  We are not promised tomorrow and tragedy can strike at anytime.  You need to be prepared and take care of your family.

When is payment for services due? Do you take payments?

Payment is normally due at the time services are agreed upon. We do not normally take payments, however you may talk with the attorney about your situation in this matter.
